In what way do global environmental changes and climate change, in particular, affect migration flows in and from developing countries? Most studies suggest that Switzerland will not be rolled over by big waves of environmental refugees. Population movements triggered by climate factors mostly take place over short distances - within states and, to a lesser extent, among neighbouring states.
