Volksinitiative für ein Tier- und Menschenversuchsverbot – Die Universitätsspitäler und medizinischen Fakultäten raten aufgrund der schwerwiegenden Folgen für die Schweiz von einer Annahme ab.

unimedsuisse weist auf die Auswirkungen einer Annahme der Initiative für ein Verbot von Tier- und Menschenversuchen hin. Insbesondere schwer und chronisch kranke Personen, sowie solche mit seltenen Erkrankungen, die dringend auf bessere medizinische Behandlungsmethoden angewiesen sind, wären betroffen. Zusätzlich verhindert die Initiative auch die Forschung in den Bereichen Pädagogik, Psychologie und Pflege, welche für stark pflege- und betreuungsbedürftigen Personen wichtig sind. Im Ausland entwickelte Medikamente könnten in der Schweiz nicht mehr auf den Markt kommen. unimedsuisse empfiehlt deshalb die Ablehnung der Initiative.

    National MD-PhD Program: 18 fellowships thanks to new partners

    This year, the National MD-PhD Program is enabling 18 talented young physicians to pursue a doctorate in natural sciences, clinical research, or public health at one of the universities associated with the program. These awards conclude the first evaluation round run entirely at the national level. They are made possible thanks to the generous support of new partners. The next call for proposals will be launched in early 2026, with a submission deadline on 15 May 2026.
