Prix de Quervain 2020: «Das Wissen, das aus der Kälte kam»

Die schweizerische Kommission für Polar- und Höhenforschung der Akademien der Wissenschaften Schweiz hat zusammen mit der Jungfraujochkommission der Schweizerischen Akademie der Naturwissenschaften den diesjährigen Nachwuchs- Forschungspreis Prix De Quervain auf dem Gebiet der Polarforschung vergeben. Prämiert wurde die Doktorarbeit von Dr. Lea Pfäffli, welche sich mit dem Wissen um die Arktis zu Beginn des 20. Jahrhunderts beschäftigt.

Il “Barometro delle nuove leve MINT Svizzera 2026” delle Accademie svizzere delle scienze mostra dove queste competenze vengono sviluppate – o, al contrario, dove non lo sono. Un confronto tra i due rapporti mette in luce perché la promozione delle discipline MINT non sia solo una questione educativa, ma anche una necessità economica.

    PS60+ resolution reflects key SAMS proposals

    The political debate on the future of Switzerland’s healthcare system is gaining momentum. In a recent resolution, PS60+, the seniors’ organization of the Social Democratic Party, echoes key proposals put forward by the SAMS. It reinforces the discussion on health as a societal responsibility and calls, among other things, for integrated healthcare, stronger coordination by the Confederation and a clear framework for the use of health data.

    SPHN: Advancing collaborative cohort research

    Switzerland is home to a diverse landscape of cohort studies that generate longitudinal health data. These valuable datasets can only reach their full impact when they can be found, compared, and used collaboratively for research. To meet this need, SPHN launched the Swiss Personalized Health Network Cohort Consortium (SPHN-CC) in 2021. Hosted on the Maelstrom Research metadata catalogue, the SPHN-CC brings together key information on study design, data collection, and variable content.
