Neue Mehrjahresplanung 2025-2028 für den Akademienverbund
Breit abgestützt hat der Akademienverbund mit seinen sechs Einheiten, neun Forschungsinfrastrukturen, den rund 100 Kommissionen und 157 Fachgesellschaften die vorliegende Mehrjahresplanung 2025–2028 verfasst. Deren Struktur, Themen und Ziele wurden im vergangenen und im laufenden Jahr in fünf Workshops systematisch erarbeitet. Beteiligt waren die PräsidentInnen sowie die GeschäftsführerInnen der Einheiten, die Delegierten, wissenschaftliche Mitarbeitende sowie die Kommunikationsverantwortlichen.
Die Vielfalt der zu bearbeitenden Objekte und Themen sowie das breite Spektrum der Disziplinen, Methoden, Erkenntnisziele und Wissensbestände konnten in sechs Schwerpunkten gebündelt werden. Dabei wurden die Alleinstellungsmerkmale des Akademienverbundes konsequent herausgearbeitet: die Verbindung zwischen Theorie und Praxis; Personen aus Wissenschaft, Wirtschaft und Politik, die sich im Milizsystem engagieren; bewegliche Scharniere zwischen verschiedenen Disziplinen sowie zwischen Grundlagenforschung und angewandter und orientierter Forschung.

Call for proposals 2026: National MD-PhD program
This year, the SAMS is once again awarding competitive MD-PhD fellowships to talented young physicians to complete a doctoral research training in natural sciences, clinical research, public health sciences or biomedical ethics. Thanks to the partnerships with foundations and associated faculties, the national MD-PhD program can be continued. The submission deadline for applications is 15 May 2026.

Save the date: Symposium on choices for our health system
The SAMS has long been committed to the sustainable development of the Swiss health system. Within this context, the Academy is organizing a symposium on 24 September 2026 at the Eventforum Bern, focusing on the choices our society will have to make in the near future regarding our health system in order to address the growing human, financial, and environmental constraints.
