Nachhaltige Entwicklung gezielt unterstützen: Whitepaper zeigt Weg für die Forschung

Welche Forschung die nachhaltige Entwicklung der Gesellschaft in der Schweiz bestmöglich unterstützt, legen Forschende im «Whitepaper Nachhaltigkeitsforschung» der Akademien der Wissenschaften Schweiz dar. 

Zusammen mit Personen aus Wissenschaft, Regierung, NGOs und dem privaten Sektor identifizieren sie sechs prioritäre Themen wie Ernährungssysteme, lebendige Räume oder Wertewandel. Das Whitepaper soll der Forschungscommunity als Wegweiser dienen, um gezielt vernetzte Forschungsprojekte zu entwickeln und zu finanzieren.

    New Sounding Board members appointed

    The Swiss Young Academy (SYA) has established a sounding board as a new advisory body to specifically strengthen the evaluation and implementation of its members' joint projects. The election of the first four Sounding Board members by the Board of Directors of the Swiss Academies of Arts and Sciences represents another important step in the further development of the Young Academy, five years after its foundation.

    Viruses as hope against antibiotic resistance

    Antibiotic-resistant germs are posing an increasing problem for medicine. Phage therapy offers a ray of hope. Phages are viruses that only attack and destroy bacteria. This can be used as a therapy if a suitable virus is found for the disease-causing bacterium. A film commissioned by the Swiss Academy of Sciences (SCNAT) summarises the current state of knowledge on this subject.
