Der Schweiz fehlen bald die Radiochemie-Fachleute

Für aktuelle und zukünftige Herausforderungen wie den Rückbau von Kernkraftwerken benötigt die Schweiz Fachwissen zur Erforschung und Anwendung radioaktiver Stoffe. Mittelfristig zeichnet sich jedoch ein Mangel an Expertinnen und Experten ab. Gemeinsam mit verschiedenen Organisationen aus der Wissenschaft hat die Akademie der Naturwissenschaften Schweiz das Weissbuch Radiochemie Schweiz erarbeitet. Dieses zeigt Massnahmen zur Sicherung und Weiterentwicklung des erforderlichen Fachwissens auf. Mit der Schaffung einer neuen Professur haben die ETH Zürich und das Paul-Scherrer-Institut bereits einen wichtigen ersten Schritt gemacht.

    Advance care planning: New thematic page for healthcare professionals

    Advance care planning (ACP) provides a framework for discussing future healthcare decisions, documenting patients’ preferences and ensuring that these are respected when needed. Together with the Swiss Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH), the Swiss Academy of Medical Sciences (SAMS) is committed to further strengthening ACP in Switzerland. This is not only the responsibility of specialised professionals: all healthcare professionals can initiate conversations about future health situations and support patients through an ACP process. To facilitate this, SAMS has published a new thematic page for healthcare professionals.

Il “Barometro delle nuove leve MINT Svizzera 2026” delle Accademie svizzere delle scienze mostra dove queste competenze vengono sviluppate – o, al contrario, dove non lo sono. Un confronto tra i due rapporti mette in luce perché la promozione delle discipline MINT non sia solo una questione educativa, ma anche una necessità economica.
