Anhand der Theaterstudien befasst sich der Vortrag mit den (historischen) Möglichkeitsbedingungen von Interdisziplinarität. Nach allgemein verbreiteter Meinung sind die Theaterstudien in Frankreich aus der Ablehnung des literaturwissenschaftlichen Deutungszugangs zum Theater hervorgegangen. Obwohl diese Entstehungsgeschichte nur bedingt belegt ist, übt sie heute noch einen Einfluss auf das Verhältnis zwischen Literaturtheorie und Theaterstudien aus. Theaterstudien werden als Bündel verschiedener Disziplinen definiert, das sich dem Studium eines gemeinsamen Objekts widmet, und doch scheut sich die Disziplin vor gewissen Austauschen und komparativen Studien. Somit blieben die Theaterstudien im letzten Viertel des 20. Jahrhunderts der Narratologie fern – im Gegensatz zu den Film- und Comics-Studien. Dies führt zu einem Mangel in der “narrativen Vergangenheit” der Disziplin, der die Teilnahme von ForscherInnen an aktuellen transmedialen narratologischen Projekten sowie an gewissen Forschungen im Bereich der Medien-Archäologie behindert.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is rapidly transforming science and is therefore profoundly reshaping the work of Early Career Researchers. Against this backdrop, the publication Impact of AI on Early Career Researchers: Challenges, Opportunities, and Responsibilities, developed by members of the Swiss Young Academy, namely Emmanuel Senft, Sabrina H. Kessler, Pamela Delgado, Devi Bühler, and Alexandre Bovet, offers a timely interdisciplinary reflection on these changes. The booklet examines both the opportunities and risks of AI across five key areas – research, teaching, science communication, policymaking, and sustainability – while also addressing critical issues such as research integrity, data privacy, misinformation, governance, and environmental impact. It further highlights the responsibilities of Early Career Researchers and higher education institutions in promoting AI literacy, transparency, ethical standards, and responsible use of AI in science.
